[USS Starfire]
[Sickbay]

"Doc, I am fine," Richard shrugged away from the Chief Medical Officer, Lieutenant JG Darkwing, as she attempted to scan Richard's vitals again.

"Sir, I wouldn't say a sniper phaser beam evaporating between your left lung and liver is 'fine'. Now, stay still and let me scan you again, or I will call Security in here and make them hold you down," the younger Medical Officer responded to Richard, grabbing his arm and shoving it back to get at scanning.

Richard leveled a scowl at the Lieutenant, as if saying 'go ahead if you dare', but allowed the Doc to perform her scans of his side and chest. Richard heard her do a few grunts and a 'hmm' and finally she let Richard's arm back down.

"Well sir, after a few stitches, you don't seem to be doing so bad anymore. I will allow you to go back to normal duties today, but I want to do a follow-up with you tomorrow, 1000 hours," Darkwing announced as she placed her scanner back down across the medical bed on her medical station.

Richard nodded and smirked, "Very well Lieutenant, if that is all, I must attend to my crew," Richard got off the medical bed and headed out of Sickbay. It had been a long couple of days, and he couldn't wait to get to his ready room.

"Sir," Richard turned, halting in his path to the turbolift that would have taken him to his Bridge. It was Lieutenant Palfrey, his Executive Officer.

Lt. James Palfrey
First Officer
USS Starfire
Near sickbay, deck five.

ON:

The Captain was conscious in sick bay...Good...a logical time to report to him.

The med-team in the shuttle apprised Palfrey of Commander Marks' condition. Going by past experience, the Captain would be going at warp speed...Warp speed...Isn't that a human expression? He would think about it later. He had started to make his way to sickbay, which was on the same level of the ship, as the holodeck, when Commander Marks came speeding by, not noticing him. Palfrey quickly turned.

"Sir." Palfrey said. The Captain stopped in his tracks.

He slowly turned around. "Mr. Palfrey?"

James handed over his report, but, that was only the technical record, the one that that Star Fleet would get. This situation required a verbal report. "Sir, I report that the ship is stable and space worthy. All boarders have been repelled, and the impulse engines are being repared as we speak. The loyal Ordik forces have quelled the attempt coup of the Ordik government...Also, the bridge is now on this deck."

Marks looked shocked with a touch of sadness. "The bridge?"

"Yes, Sir." Palfrey stated as though it was nothing important. "We have lost the bridge and will have to have it replaced at the Avalon Fleet Yards."

"The Bridge." The Commander, still looked shocked.

Maybe, this was one of the times, one should say something that calms a person in a stressful situation.

"Your Chair on the Holodeck is very comfortable."

*USS Starfire
*Main Engineering

"Well, now, would you look at that?" Bluehouse said rhetorically. "Those Romulan parts fit right in there like they were made by Starfleet." In actuality, he had looked closely at the parts, and they were made by Starfleet, for Starfleet ships. At Antares Shipyard, if he was any judge of part numbers. He wasn't asking how the parts had fallen into Romulan hands.

The leader of the 3 Romulans blushed, an interesting response which David hadn't known Romulans were capable of. "Well, yes, Sir. They were. I, ah, I came upon them in stores in the Ordik ship, and thought they might better be used on Starfire. I'm not sure why they had them. The parts won't fit an Ordik ship." He seemed puzzled.

The Chief Engineer decided to be kind and relieve any stress the 'guests' might be feeling. "Oh, no doubt they acquired them somewhere cheaply and planned to trade them. I'm glad you brought them. Let's run a test before I let the captain know ... if the captain is up again."

They ran the tests and engines performed perfectly. "Well, now, that's just grand," the engineer said with a smile.

Bluehouse had been thinking and was sure he knew exactly why the parts had been on the Ordik ship, and guessed there might have been many other spare parts for a Starfleet ship on that vessel. It was obvious they'd planned to kill the crew of Starfire and take it over. No wonder they hadn't been worried about damaging it. They could fix whatever needed fixing. "Well, not the bridge," he thought outloud.

"Sir?" the Romulan asked in confusion.

"Oh, nothing," David said, realizing he'd spoken aloud. "Just thinking outloud. Humans do that from time to time." He held out his hand to shake that of each Romulan in turn. "You've done Starfire proud. Now let's see if I can put in a good word with the captain for you."

He tapped his combadge. "Captain Marks, impulse engines are repaired and ready to run. I have three Romulans down here who want to defect. They brought the replacement parts, and have been most helpful in getting us running again. Their engineering knowledge is up to par, and I'd be happy to have any of them in my department. Where should I send them, Sir?"

Lt. James Palfrey
First Officer
USS Starfire
Holodeck One, 'The Bridge'.

On:

Palfrey finally sat in his chair. Or at least a good facsimile of it. The helm was functioning well, now that the impulse engines were repaired. And, quarters had been found for the three Romulans.

"Sir, we are being hailed." The Acting Ops Officer announced.

"On screen." Commander Marks responded.

The image of Brigadier Nem'dak, appear before the bridge crew. "Ah, Commander Marks. It is good that you are well." Then, he looked to the Grand Elder, whom had been escorted to the bridge by the First Officer, and was sitting in a chair, specially created by the holodeck, to handle his height and weight. "I am happy to inform you, my Elder, that the Delvian delegation will be arriving in system, in three hours."

"Good, Brigadier." The Elder replied.

OFF: Sorry, another short one.

*USS Starfire
*Holodeck 1, 'The Bridge'

ON:

"Lieutenant Rhea reporting for duty on the...."What do I call it the holodeck or bridge?, She thought to herself, nahh screw it.." Pseudo-Bridge, sir", She said softly, stepping through the 'door' onto the 'bridge'.

Allison was a little tired from all the running around she had done, her normally proper, and prim uniform was wrinkled, and her hair was now sticking to the front of her face from perspiration. When she'd heard the Red Alert, and Intruder Alert, alarms go off she'd raced out of her quarters towards the Bridge, having to take several detours due to Security Officers telling her there were hostiles, and forcefields, and the like. It wasn't until she had gotten to Deck Two that someone had bothered to tell her that the Bridge no longer existed. And so she began the same routine as before to make her way to the Holodeck, which someone else had told her, correctly, was the new 'bridge'.

She gave a quick salute, and waited for the Commanding Officer to acknowledge her presence before going to take her seat at the 'helm', which Petty Officer Reed had already vacated, and she was making her way off the bridge toward whichever duty station she had while not manning the helm. Normally Allison would have gone straight for her post, but there seemed to be something going on, and one of the Aliens they'd been sent to help/stop killing the other aliens was also sitting on the 'bridge'.

OFF: I promise as I go along they'll get longer

ON:

[USS Starfire]
[Pseudo-Bridge--Holo-deck One]

Richard looked over at the Elder as the Brigadier on the view screen talked things over with him, when the Captain recieved the comms from Engineering. "Alright Lieutenant Bluehouse, go ahead and talk to the Chief of the Boat about their accomodations on board. If they clear Security, that is. So send them down to Lieutenant Knoxx and then have him escort them to their quarters after the Chief assigns rooms for them," Richard didn't wait for a response, ending the transmission to Engineering with a tap of his combadge.

It was not more than a few moments later that Lieutenant Rhea came onto their make-shift holo-deck of a Bridge and reported in. "Go ahead Rhea and take the helm, we may be needing to rendevzous with the incoming Delvians," Richard didn't wait for the Chief Conn to respond, instead turning back to the view screen and the Brigadier on it.

"Brigadier, I would propose that the Starfire be the mutual ground for the soon to come peace talks between your nation and the Delvians. I will have my crew prepare a meeting area aboard our vessel for all who want to come aboard to be a part of this historic meeting," Richard put on a stern face as was the custom for the Ordik, short, punctual and stern.

The Grand Elder spoke up before the Brigadier had time to, "As Ordiks, we would not think less of this, for the Starfire, the crew, and the rest of the Federation has now proven to us Ordiks how truly blind we have been to this war. Commander Marks we will be more than happy to be a part of these peace talks aboard your vessel, as the political and supreme military advisor for the Ordik Confederated Systems, we approve of this offer," the Grand Elder's face was a reflection of the hardness of any of the Ordiks Richard had ever seen previously, stern and to the point.

"Very well, Grand Elder Sor'tag, we will begin preparations for the this meeting as soon as possible," Richard turned back to the viewscreen yet again, "Brigadier, perhaps you would be able to assist us in this by imposing a security cordon of this area of your space, so as not to allow any further interruptions to our peace accords."

The Brigadier in front of him grunted a very harsh grunt and made a make shift salute to his chest, "By my Ordik blood, I will ensure this personally, Commander, there won't be a vessel flying withing a million kilometers of our vessels, rest assured of this," Richard could hear the coldness in his words, and saw the fire in the Ordik officer's eyes.

"Very well, Brigadier," Richard turned to the Grand Elder, "And Grand Elder, we will begin preparations for this and communicate again within a couple hours," Richard let his gaze settle on the Starfire's Chief Operations Officer, Ensign Wanstall, "Ensign, end transmission."

Richard heard a belayed 'Aye, aye, sir,' and then the view screen went back to the stars in front of the vessel. Richard looked over at Palfrey, "Well, Palfrey, I guess that leaves you to taking care of our little meeting, I want a full complement of security personnel assigned to our meeting area. Please discuss all the security matters with Lieutenant Knoxx and coordinate some of things with the counselor as she may have some thoughts or ideas on how to reach the Ordiks better in our talks and then report back to me within the hour," Richard turned back around in his command chair to face the view screen in front of them.

"Marks to Captain Northn," Richard waited for the Marine commander's delayed response.

"North, go ahead, sir," Richard heard the strict voice of his number one Marine.

"Captain, I want you to have some of your best on stand-by just in case anyone tries anything new," Richard heard the 'Aye, sir,' and tapped off his combadge.

"I guess that will give us a little bit of time to get things rolling, Palfrey, I will remain on the Bridge, go ahead and use any area on the Bridge to set up for this meeting and communicate with me when everything is prepared and then we will hail the other vessels," Richard waited for the Lieutenant's response.

OFF:

Bluehouse: You can NPC those Romulans helping to fix things while we do this diplomatic stuff.

Mcleod/Knoxx/Palfrey: Get a JP going or bounce some posts to each other setting up this meeting.

North: NPC some cool Marine standby stuff, get some Spec Ops units in place or something crazy.

Venchelli: You can patrol the outter rim of space around the Starfire and the other vessels, you can interact with a civilian vessel or something that you might think may be a bad guy, but is just a drunk civvy and just ground them.

Rhea: If you have any ideas of something to NPC that won't affect the overall storyline right this moment, go ahead with it, or if you wanna do a JP just PM me.>

** USS Starfire
** Outter Rim

"So Lt, what do you plan on doing when we get back to station?" Joker asked as the entire squadron of the Outlaws flew their patrols on the outside perimeter of the ships. Venchelli looked out the side view window of his fighter at the open space, in the furthest distance he could make out the ships that they were defending.

"I don't quite know, why do you ask joker? something special in mind?" he said softly watching his radar as well as all the surrounding area outside of his view ports.

"Yeah, I was thinking we could get some of the guys together from the ship and our squad and have a friendly football game on the station holo-decks." Joker's lithe build and quick reflexes made him a ideal quarterback and joker loved to fill said role. Anthony just shook his head with a smirk. "I doubt we will be in station long, just enough to repair the damage to the bridge and pick up any new crew and get our next mission." He stated as matter of fact.

"Yeah I know but still that is plenty of time to get a game going, hell we could even get the Captain in it! Has anyone even met the Captain yet?" Venchelli smirked softly and shook his head, "I do not believe I have had the pleasure just yet, met with the XO friendly enough guy." Venchelli stated as he rounded about with Joker on his wing.

"Yeah we'll I wanna met the Captain, he is after all the Head Hancho...the Big Cheese, The Godfatha of Starfire.....Lt we have a Bogey coming in at 3 o'clock from our position."

Venchelli looked at his Radar and saw it flashing on screen, was too small to be a battle ship. "Moving to intercept incoming vessel. Joker stay your course I will let you know if I need assistance...Breaking off in..1...2.." Venchelli adjusted his heading and broke out of the patrol formation and took off to intercept the incoming vessel.

As he neared a safe distance from the vessel he was able to see it was a frigate, he breathed a sigh of relief and opened up a channel. He ran a scan on the vessel with his onboard systems and wasn't picking up any registry that he was aware of.

"Attention Unidentified vessel, This is Lt Venchelli of Commander of the Flight Squadron Outlaws by order of the Federation of Planets. I ask you to adjust your coordinates, this sector is closed down. I repeat please find another route to your destination this Sector is on Lockdown."

Venchelli allowed a moment to pass and he did not receive a response, he frowned and sent another message.

"Unidentified vessel this is your final warning depart from this sector immediately or you will be treated as a hostile and will be fired upon. Please respond..."

"AHHHHHHHHHH!........mere! I gotsa secret fer yew!" Came a obviously drunken voice over his com. At first the tone itself was enough to bring a small smile to his lips for sheer amusement alone. He cleared his throat to keep himself from laughing, "Sir I will have to ask you to please depart this area we are under Lockdown."

"Ah shoo', ain' no such thang as lok downe in these ere parts..but i ken see yer purdy strong on yer statement. So's i will find meh anudder route ter take..."

Then all the sudden the Space Hick threw his frigate into full and blasted forward with speed that caught Venchelli by surprise, especially since he had to maneuver his fighter out of the way just to keep from getting rubbed onto the side of the frigates hull.

"Shit! Joker! Inbound target disable him, I repeat do not destroy the ship it's some damn drunk civilian. I am bringing up the rear." He stated and threw his fighter into pursuit.

[Off]

Lt. James Palfrey
First Officer
USS Starfire
Holodeck One, 'The Bridge'.

On:

"...Palfrey, I will remain on the Bridge." Richard looked at the facsimile of his chair, as he continued. "Go ahead and use any area on the Bridge to set up for this meeting and communicate with me when everything is prepared and then we will hail the other vessels."

"Aye, Sir." Palfrey replied. He stepped over to the 'turbolift' doors. "Arch." The arch to the holodeck appeared. James tapped at the holodeck controls. Stepped away, and tapped his badge. He hailed the sickbay checking on their progress with the injured, and then made arrangements, concerning the ship's Councelor. He tapped again. "Palfrey to Lieutenant McLeod, please come to the holodeck."

(McLeod replied)

Palfrey turned toward tactical. "Lieutenant Knoxx..." He and the Chief of Security discussed the security arrangements.

(Knoxx post this convo from your point of view)

Suddenly the Acting Ops Officer spoke up. "Sir, we have an incoming ship, and it's moving at a high impulse rate."

As he was quickly walking toward Ops. "Red alert! Tactical, lock phasers on the incoming ship."

"Hail the ship" Commander Marks calmly said. The channel was opened. "This is Commander Marks of the Federation Starship Starfire, you have entered restricted space, turn back or we will fire upon you. Lieutenant Knoxx, aim for their drives if you can."

"Hhhhay. What's going on here." Something was wrong with the intruder's Captain. "Uh...uh..This...is the independent trader...Wa..wa..Whipflash! We're out of R...R..R..Riley's (burp!) Freehold...Uh...H..How...are you doing?"

Palfrey looked down at the Ops screens. "The Ordik ships are powering up their weapons, Sir." He was hoping this could be handled peacefully. Riley's Freehold was vying for entrance into the Federation. The President of that planet was practically a hero in the Raeyan Sector, standing up to the Cha'kilians, with a small but effective resistance force, during the Cha'kilian war. It would be a bad thing to have an intergalactic incident now.

OFF: Tag-Mcleod and Knoxx. Also, the Whipflash's shields are down, it would be easy to board the ship and take control of her.

Lt. Lyaas
Intel Officer
USS Starfire
The Whipflash

On:
Lyaas moved though the Corridor quietly and slowly, being sure to avoid any crew as she made her way out of the computer core. She had just shut down the shield generators and gain access to the transporters. She had her way off this ship but still needed away to get though the Starfires shields.

Then it hit her, she knew the XO was Vulcan, which made him a easy target to talk to telepathically, all she would have to do is convince him she was a officer and get the ship close enough to reach him with her mind.

The question was, how to do that? The CO was a little drunk, no thanks to the Romulan ale he found in his office. Perhaps she could 'influence' him to bring us a little closer.

:OFF:

OOC: Mr. Palfrey this was mostly your idea, i am unsure if you want to NPC the ship Capt. or not so i will wait to 'influence' him until i talk to you. Or until something else happens that i can take advantage of. Razz

Re: Episode Three: Trivial Matters

A joint post...Sorta.
Lt. Palfrey and NPC Ens. Bunting.
USS Starfire
Holodeck One, 'The Bridge'.

ON:

Bunting looked through the scope at his screen. The code had come through.

He was being transferred. He didn't know where, they would tell him at the last minute. Unlike the rest of Star Fleet, Intelligence kept transfers a secret...even from the people getting transferred. Chances are his replacement just found out, seconds ago, that his duty station was the Starfire.

He checked his screen again. It said 'Jericho', it was embedded in the middle of some mundane information that if anyone else had seen it, even another SF Spook, they would not known it's meaning. This code was only for him, at this time, only. It meant that he was to board the first civilian ship that didn't belong where it was. The Whipflash was it.

He walked over to the two top Officers. "Commander Marks, Lieutenant Palfrey, I need to talk to you in the ready room." Then he remembered, there was no ready room!

During this time, Palfrey had looked like he hadn't been really listening.

"Ensign." The Captain said. "I'm guessing this has to do with the Whipflash."

"It does." Palfrey interjected. "I believe we better move this conversation to the ready room."

"But." Bunting looked confused.

"Yes, Mr. Bunting." Palfrey said, stoically. "We have had a ready room for approximately Three Point two five minutes."

They walked over to the ready room. Once there, Bunting tried to explain. "Captain, I'm being transferred..."

Palfrey finished his sentence. "Yes, and your replacement is on the Whipflash. Computer, console." A Bridge style console appeared next to the First Officer. He tapped away at the controls. The ready room changed into a transporter room, the type that would have been on a Constitution Class vessel...it was the only transporter program, or partial program in the holodeck's memory banks. It included one Montgomery Scott at the controls.

"Coptan, I halve the coordinates locked in." 'Scotty' said.

"Mr. Scott." Palfrey addressed the teleportation pioneer. He gave 'Mr. Scott' a completely different set of coordinates, including bringing in another person. He turned to Ensign Bunting. And held his hand up in a fairwell. "Live long and prosper, Mr. Bunting."

Bunting looked at both Marks and Palfrey. "It's been an honor, serving aboard this ship." He stepped on to the pad.

Marks said. "Energize."

As Bunting started to disappear, a person appeared on the pad next to his. It was a female, with a light green/blue hue to her skin. Andorain antenni projected above the long white hair on her head. She stepped off the transporter pad. "Lt. Lyaas." She said to Commander Marks.

Richard quickly recovered from what was happening before him. "Welcome aboard, Ms. Lyaas. I'm sure you know where your station is."

She turned toward the First Officer.

"Interesting use of your powers, Lieutenant." He replied.

She stepped out of the transporter room, which was changing back into the ready room as she left.

OFF: Welcome aboard Lieutenant.

Lt. Lyaas
USS Starfire
Whipflash / Holodeck One, 'The Bridge’

ON:

Lyaas was standing inside the Bridge escape pod. I was a great location for there were no windows and it was never accessed. She had just finished ‘influencing’ the Capt. to bring the ship closer. It was very easy for her to get the drunken man to follow the little voice in his head. She then sat down and reached out with her mind.
At first she was confused for her XO was not on the bridge. She stopped, took a deep breath and began to scan the ship. She was breathing deeply and trying her best block out the entire real world. Then he hit her. She then started to send her thoughts to him. Starting with her personal code, some delegate of the Starfires and lastly her location. It was not more then a min. later that she got her Answer.

~ Holodeck One, ~

She rematerlized was taken a little off guard by the look of the transporter room. As she stepped down off the Padd. The room started to change to the ready room the the pieces fell together in her mind.

"Lt. Lyaas." She said to Commander Marks.

Richard quickly recovered from what was happening before him. "Welcome aboard, Ms. Lyaas. I'm sure you know where your station is."

She turned toward the First Officer.

"Interesting use of your powers, Lieutenant." He replied

“Yes, sir I do,” She nodded, She was wearing gray and worn down cloth had a phaser on her hip along with a modified tri. “I try my best Lt., I need to keep things interesting or I get bored.” She then moved her way to the door and on the bridge. Walking right past her two CO’s. She moved across the bridge and to her station.

Using her mind she looked around the room as she did so and she started to notice the differences of the real world and this fake holodeck on.

OFF

OOC: thank you sir

Lt. James Palfrey
First Officer
USS Starfire
Holodeck One, 'The Bridge'.

On:

As soon as the Whipflash was warned by the Starfire, she came to a stop. Then pulled back slowly in reverse, using a ninety degree 'rudder'. The ship actually swerved around, until it was almost facing one hundred and eighty degrees from it's former vector.

"Uh...hu...Wellll, Ah,I g-got...ta...go. Bub-bye." The Whipflash disappeared into warp space. Palfrey looked towards the Starfire's new Intelligence Officer, her antenni appeared to collapse after being greatly stressed. She appeared to be looking into the intell console scope, but James could tell that she was supporting her head, using the scope.

He walked over to Ltaas' station. "Another display of you abilities?" Palfrey said.

Lt. Lyaas' reply was, "I have a headache."

"Lieutenant Lyaas." Palfrey had been talking very quietly the whole time. "Once, we are safely on our way to the Avalon Fleet Yards, you and I must have a talk." Humm, 'have a talk', Palfrey sounded just like his human grandfather.

Off: Lt. Lyaas, notice, unlike everyone else, you have a scope (Tos, Spock's view scope, style). It was found, back in the days when, TF-44 Greymist, was in this sector, that shielding the bridge crew's view of the intell console with curtains or screens, never worked. The scope works. Insidently, only you can legally look in that scope!

Lt. James Palfrey
First Officer
USS Starfire
Holodeck One

On:

Palfrey had finished reverting the 'transporter room' back into the 'meeting room'. He then stepped on to the 'bridge'.

The acting Ops Officer reported to the Captain. "Sir, Both the Ordik and Delvian deligations are ready to beam over to the Starfire."

"Good, Midshipman Phelps." Commander Marks said. Mr. Phelps was showing he was going to be, probably soon, the kind of officer, that ships like the Enterprise, attracted and hand picked. With Ensign Wanstall dead after the fight on the bridge, and Mr. Wanstall's department members either dead or in sickbay, the Midshipman had stepped up to plate, as his grandfather would say...James still wondered why someone would 'step up to a plate'.

"Mr. Palfrey, you have the bridge." Marks stood up and straightened his uniform. "I will be in the trans..."

"Uh, Sir?...Uh, Commander?" Phelps said nervously.

"Yes, Mr. Phelps." The Captain smiled. The kid was quite good, for a midshipman.

"Sir." Phelps reported. "I was checking on the culture and traditions of both the Ordiks and the Delvians, and one of the traditions is, that the leader of a group never greets important guests personally, hence the guards that greeted you on the planet. The leader always sends..." He looked at Palfrey nervously. "...well, the word translates literally to...lacky." Phelps looked away.

The Captain turned toward his First Officer. "Well, Number One. Do you mind being a 'lacky'?"

"I am not offended by the title, Sir." James Answered.

"Good." The Commander smiled again. "Proceed to the transporter room and greet our guests."

"Aye, Sir." Palfrey stepped off the bridge.

Re: Episode Three: Trivial Matters

Post by Palfrey on Tue Jun 22, 2010 11:37 pm

Lt. James Palfrey
First Officer
USS Starfire
Holodeck One

Palfrey had created another holodeck transporter room. This time using the Captain's ready room, there was only so much usable space on the holodeck. He had chosen this route, instead of using a real transporter, because, after having Lt. Knoxx bring a special security force on the bridge, the Captain, the head of Security, and if needed, the head of Intelligence, would all be there.

'Scotty' moved the sliders. It was a complicated transport, teleporting people from two different places, at the same time. The delegates started to materialize.

As it was, the 'Scotty' program was for training purposes only. Palfrey had to quickly reprogram the simulation when Lt. Lyaas came aboard the ship. Luckily, who ever created this program, caught Montgomery Scott's technical work perfectly, or there would have, by now, been an accident.

It was Palfrey's computer thesis, at the Academy.

"Alt da, aut na, drakmrak da, Ordikin." He hope he was getting the pronunciations right, he was reading it of a padd. "Alt da, aut na, drakmrak da, Delavianian. He knew the titles weren't quite right, hopefully the deligates, wouldn't care.

"Well spoken bachta!" The Delavian statesman announced. He then, reached over, and hugged his counterpart. "Brother." the universal transilator said.

"It is time for peace, my younger Brother." the Delavian, said.

"Yes" The Ordikan Elder stated. "We are now your Younger Brother, and brothers work together.

"I heard, you had some trouble, with the Romulans" They disappeared, through the ready room doors. It always helps, if you can give the delegates, a map to the conference room.

"Hmm, they're almost like brothers." The Captain was standing beside the First Officer.

"Yes" Palfrey said, stoically. " I believe, we better get in there." 'in there',...James would have never said that...Yet, he did. Another Grandpa-ism?

OFF: Tag, everyone! There's lots to do! Let's throw a zig in to this zag!!!

Re: Episode Three: Trivial Matters

ON:

[USS Starfire]
[Conference Room]

Richard had waited until all of the delegates and atleast most of his own senior staff where finally in attendance within the room before beginning the peace talks. Judging by the cordial responses from both faction's leaders, this was looking more and more like it was going to be smooth sailing from here out. Richard let out a refreshed sigh, finally taking his eyes away from his PADD, which held a speech that he was too tired to read to everyone.

Richard stood up from his chair, after all the delegates had finally found their seats around the conference room, surprisingly enough both the Grand Elder and the Chief Delvian sat right next to each other, directly across from Richard at the conference table. Richard cleared his throat, placing his hand up to his mouth to indicate to all that he had something to say, the chatter slowly died throughout the room, everyones attention in the room was now on him.

"Well I am sure everyone here today know exactly what we are here to do," Richard started with a smile to both delegates, they both nodded in their own customarily way. "Then let us all get down to the business at hand. On the PADDs each of you have before your person contains the data-text of the treaty that has been prepared in advance by my own Executive Officer, Lieutenant Palfrey, adhereing to every ounce of what the United Federation of Planets and Starfleet is.

"You will notice that we have given both sides adequate and equal compensation for both militaries to stand down, effective immediately. And we have also divided up what holdings both sides claim as their own, equally. Every system, planet, and section is accounted for and has been recorded as such on this PADD to each respective side," Richard, as he was standing up in front of all, turned to Lieutenant Palfrey, at his side.

"Lieutenant, if you wouldn't mind, would you please summarize the proceedings underlined in the peace treaty that outlines the division of planetary holdings to each nation equally and please define to both sides how both nations will be demilitarizing themselves and how much of a defense force will be allowed to be retained within the regulations of the Federation and Starfleet," Richard nodded to the Lieutenant and took his seat, respectfully handing over the floor to the First Officer.

Lyaas stud in the far left hand corner of the room 'watching' this event. As she listened to her Capt. speak she believed him to be very professional, however she did not believe him. She found it unlikely that all of the disused area was divided equally.

And even if it was equal when it comes to amount of space, there was almost no way that what was presented could please both sides when it came to resources and strategic positions. She knew there had to be something in that list, most likely hidden, that one or both sides would not agree to.

Lyaas wondered if her CO thought of this and if he was hoping they would not take the time to read everything completely.

"both nations will be demilitarizing themselves and how much of a defense force will be allowed to be retained within the regulations of the Federation and Starfleet"

Ouch, Allison thought as she felt the stronger emotions of the two alien delegates, neither of them are too happy about that of course that is point...
Surprisingly Allison enjoyed this sort of diplomacy stuff, not enough to actually want to be involved, but enough to enjoy herself as she sat in the rather stuffed conference room.
This would be cooler if we had a Klingon diplomat onboard, she observed idly, resisting the urge to spin in her chair.
Other than the two aliens whose emotions seemed to be particularly strong (probably at the prospect of actually ending the war that had enveloped them..) she wasn't getting a whole lot with her limited empathic abilities. The Captain seemed to be playing it cool, and Palfrey was always a mystery.
She was however getting the nagging feeling that something was...different about the new CIO. No emotions just a sort of a "feeling". She turned to look at the Aenar/Andorian and frowned a little.
There is definitely something about her, She thought with curiosity, only half listening to the diplomatic proceedings now.

Lt. James Palfrey
First Officer
USS Starfire
Holodeck One, the 'Conference Room'

ON:

Palfrey laid out the proposed plan developed by the Federation Diplomatic Corps. As the Ordik and Delvian leaders followed along on their padds, he also used a holographic map that had formed in the center of the table. Going by the looks of dismay and even, sometimes, amusement, Palfrey could tell that the two former protagonists were already farther ahead in the their secret talks, then Star Fleet had expected.

"Hmm." the Ordik Grand Elder said. "I see that your superiors have given our situation great thought."

"Yes but, my Ordik Brother and I have noticed several flaws in your boundry laying." The Delain Chief continued. He looked toward the Grand Elder. "May I, my Brother?"

He was given the knod. "We had come up with such a plan months ago, when we were meeting in secret. And found that, no matter how we split up the planets between our governments, it proved distasteful to everyone.

"Eventually." The the Ordik leader took over. "We and our diplomats found that the only way to come to a solution, was to split up both governments. And reform them into semi-independent states that would band together as a larger Goverment."

He made major adjustments to the holo-map.

"Yes." It was the Delvain leader's turn. "We would form a large confederation. The Ordiks are already familiar with the system and the Delvian Hegemony could, with a little time, convert. The Ordik Fleet would, after weeding out the more obsolete ships and up grading the rest, would become the protective arm of the new Confederation...The Delvian Confederation."

The Grand Elder finished their presentation. "And, hopefully soon, he would take our rightful place in the Federation.

Palfrey raise an eyebrow. They seemed to have thing in order. He looked to the Captain.

"Sir?"

Somewhere in space

ON:

It watched.

Yes, it said to it's self. Soon it wouldn't have to patrol this Time/Space. The ship that was called the Starfire was there. Though, the federation ship was not a major force in the area, she served a purpose. If she hadn't there, she wouldn't have stopped the Romulan plot, to take over the Ordik People...If...If it hadn't worked...It would have had to step in.

Rescuing the chosen was one thing. But, stepping in to change fortunes, was another.

It knew that.

It had been detected before. But, no more than a millisecond. And only one, had brought back that information.

OFF: Lieutenant Lyaas, though the Ops officer doesn't know it, the ship's senors have picked up, very faintly, the chemical signature of latex. Because this signature doesn't take place in space...And the fact that you are to be alerted to this phenomenon...your pad will alert you. PM me, and I will give you some of the details.

This is not the next mission. It's just something that is happening between missions.

Both, now, the Delvian Confederation diplomats, looked upon the rather shocked, Federation personnel. The former Delvian leader, touched his hip. "Two to teleport." They both phased off the Holodeck.

Pon Farr

Post by Palfrey on Tue Jul 06, 2010 12:01 am

Lt. James Palfrey
First Officer
USS Starfire
Holodeck One, the 'The Bridge'

ON:

He could feel it coming on...Yes, it had been seven years. He first felt it during the negotiations with the, now members, of the Delvian Confederation...Emotion!

'Feelings...Nothing more then feelings...the old song he heard, when staying at his human grandparents, was suddenly in his head...And it wouldn't leave...It Mad Him MAD!

"Commander Marks" He had forgotted to use 'sir'. "I...Need."

"Yes Lt." The Captain looked with concern.

"I NEED!"

He had to control himself before he hurt someone. He paused...Meditating.

The Captain broke into it. "Mr. Palfrey, are you o.k.? Do you need to visit the sickb..."

"I NEED!!!..." It took some work, but James got himself under a little control. "Captain, I wish to use the conference room portion of the holodeck."

Marks didn't ask why, he just nodded.

"And please, Sir, no one must enter that room!"

"Go ahead."

Palfrey entered the 'conference room'. "Computer! Activate! Pon Farr Therapy!"

Off: Sorry I need a little more LOA.

USS Starfire
Holodeck One, the 'The Bridge'

Allison had retaken her position at the helm, and was about to ask the Captain for orders, when the Commander began acting strangely. At first she had watched him, with an amount of curiosity, as his feelings began to surface, and bubble. Allison raised an eyebrow,What's going on with him?
The next thing she knew was that a wall of pure, primal emotion assaulted her conscious, as hard as if she had attempted to drive the Starfire into the side of a planetoid.
Ohh no don't tell me he's entering Pon Farr, She thought weakly, trying to maintain an upright position in her seat. As Palfrey's emotions continued to role over her she gripped the edge of the helm console, fighting to maintain control, and not enter a state of primal urges on the "bridge". Had she been in any position to, she probably would have thanked the powers that be that she wasn't a half or full betazoid at this very moment...
"Captain,"She said faintly with a little cough, as her cheeks began to flush red,"May I uhh be excused from duty I'm not feeling to well...."

ON:

[Bridge]

"Go ahead Lieutenant Rhea, you are relieved of your post for the moment. Please go and see the Doc to run a few scans and keep me posted," Richard realized then that Palfrey's state must have been pretty serious if Rhea had been affected by it.

Richard sat back down on his command chair and reviewed the mission reports that Palfrey had prepared for him in the case that he had to back brief Commodore Riskin on the Starfire's last mission and its outcome.

Aftermath

Post by Palfrey on Sat Aug 14, 2010 10:22 pm

Lt. James Palfrey
First Officer
USS Starfire
Palfrey's quarters.

Off: I'm going to start posting on this thread until we can get going on Episode 4. This post
begins two days after the Starfire has gotten to AFY. None of the replacement NPCs have joined
the crew yet.

On:

Palfrey had just finished going through the list of candidates from the officer and enlisted pools.
Choosing replacements for those that didn't make it back was a trying task. It was Palfrey's job
to make sure the best qualified personnel available were chosen. In some cases, it would require,
meeting with some of these candidates, to talk them into joining the crew. At a certain rank,
officers had some choice, on where they were assigned.

But, before that, he had to take care of even less pleasant business. The proper handling of the
dead and their affects. In this, there were many traditions that had to be followed. Of the bodies
recovered, some would be sent home to their families, some would be sent to places that were holy
to their cultures. Some would simply be disposed of. And then there was the late Crewman
Jorgenson. In his file it stated that he wished to be sent off to the next world by his shipmates.
If there wasn't an ocean to float his funeral barge on, he wanted to be sent into the nearest sun.

Arrangements had to be made. Even Commander Marks was expected to attend.

OFF: Tag anyone aboard. And...sorry for not posting in a while.

OOC:

I have been trying to get people back to posting but no one has responded to any messages aside from you and the Chief Conn. I have just found out that the Chief of Security/2XO doesnt wish to play anymore and our Chief Intel is out as well. I havent heard anything from anyone else yet. ugh. I guess I will start again on recruiting for positions. This is a mess.
